#WCW: Kat Cheng, Yoga Entrepreneur
It was a warm and sunny day in LA when Kat and I grabbed lunch at the Grove. We sat in the shade enjoying some tea and avocado toast while making sure her adorable dog, Ollie, stayed cool and hydrated. Dressed in a matching yoga set with beach waves and sunglasses, Kat is the quintessential Southern California babe. She is kind, intelligent, and listens supportively as I pitch crazy ideas on collabs and events to her. She is her own boss, you see. After ditching a desk job to build her yoga empire, Kat knows true hustle. From teaching regular classes, hosting private yoga sessions, running free fitness days in her native Orange County, and modeling as a brand ambassador for up and coming fitness brands, Kat is carving her name into the wellness space.
If you haven’t checked out her insta (@katchengyoga), you should. If you haven’t taken one of her yoga classes, you should. If you don’t know Kat, you should.
Kat, I loved sitting down with you and chatting. I can’t wait to see how far you go!
xx, Courtney

d&r: Do you have a nickname?
KC: Kat (lol)
d&r: When did you feel your greatest accomplishment?
KC: Starting my own business has been my greatest accomplishment. Taking that first step is something I’m really proud of.
d&r: What habit do you tend to do when you are stressed or sad?
KC: I have good habits and bad habits. My bad habits tend to make me spiral into personal anxieties and doubts. My good habit are yoga and talking with other people to help get new perspectives on stressful situations.
d&r: What’s your favorite childhood memory?
KC: Tennis and singing really shaped who I am as a person today.
d&r: What does it mean to be a female today?
KC: Being empowered to do things that you want to do and actually believe in. Especially when men tell you that you can’t. We have access to be anything we want now. Encouraging and supporting positive energy [is what being female means to me].
