#WCW: Kamala Harris

I hope you watched the past two nights of debates! We could sit and chat about the 2020 elections until the cows come home, but that’s not why we are here today. I see hope and light in this election. Hope and light that was absent in 2016. This elections season has me hopeful that my generation will take action and change the course of history. I am honored to discuss the female candidates for the Democratic Nomination. For our first election-themed #WCW we’ll be covering a front-runner, Senator Kamala Harris.

The Senator started her political career as the deputy DA for Alameda County in California in the 90’s. She quick rose through the state law ranks eventually becoming the state Attorney General for California. Over the years, Sen. Harris has established herself as a pitbull, willing to fight for what she believes is fair under the law and morally correct.

Serving as a Senator, she actively has championed the rights of those marginalized all while fighting for human dignity. As a candidate in 2020, she is not afraid to submit insightful positions to the national conversation on (but not limited to) big ticket items such as Medicare for All, immigration reform, racial and gender inequalities, tax reform, and voting rights.
