Limitless Moisturizer Q&A with Courtney

The day is almost here! Tomorrow we officially launch the duncan&robyn Limitless Moisturizer! I’ve been incredibly hush-hush online about what this launch is really about and what it means for both me personally and the future of duncan&robyn. Many people have been asking questions and providing feedback for our launch and I thought it’d be great to address each and every one of them here with my readers and customers. Let’s get started!

What is the Limitless Moisturizer?

The Limitless Moisturizer is a gel-type facial cream that has a few key ingredients which are suitable for all skin types. It contains a new technology that, along with aloe and chamomile-infused water, helps skin continually rehydrate and self-soothe. Enriched with Vitamins E, C, and B, it acts as a powerful antioxidant complex, targeting and slowing the skin's aging process. Along with hyaluronic acid, which boosts the skin with hydration, this cream is packed with humectants and polymers to lock in moisture for up to 72 hours.

Why this now?

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to give back in any way I can to marginalized people - especially women. Up until now, I’ve given back with my time, but I felt like I could do more. It was during my time volunteering in Portland, that I met a core group of women striving to change their circumstances for themselves and their families. They expressed nothing but gratitude and appreciation for clothes that were donated and food that helped them feed their kids, but I could tell that those items only got them so far. Clothes helped them present their best selves but many of them still felt self-conscious about their skin. Ironically enough all of their grievances seemed to mirror those from important women in my life. “I have really bad dark spots” “My skin looks dry” “I don’t want to smile because I already have bad crow’s feet around my eyes” I could close my eyes and hear my mom saying the exact same things! So I asked them, why don’t you take the time to take care of yourself? Their response shook me to my core:

“Why would I spend money to take care of myself when I have mouths to feed?”

So that is why I came up with this idea. Self-care and hygiene products are some of the most under-donated items to women’s organizations. Think to yourself when the last time you donated a face wash or a cream was? If you can think of a time, congrats! You’re ahead of the curve! If you can’t think of a time, that is exactly why we are doing this now.

How do I know that the Limitless Moisturizer is legit?

Good question! We did a lot of quality testing with folks of different races, backgrounds, ages, and climate conditions and their feedback was all incredibly positive.

“For Women, By Women“ - so no men allowed?

This is one of the questions that I feel the most passionate about and I’m so glad people have been asking it! First, let me break down our company’s motto:

For Women

“For women” doesn’t mean that our products, blog, company is only for women. It means that our mission is to serve women! Underprivileged women have a need for items that allow them to look and feel confident regardless of what their backgrounds or financial situations are. Therefore “for women” helps to identify and target those women of all types to help out and provide them with a small tool to help them feel their best.

By Women

“By women” just means that duncan&robyn are names that reflect two women! Courtney and Stephanie. Me and my sister. Sweet and Bird. The dynamic duo. The sissies. Frick and Frack. Whatever you want to call us. We are not hoping that our customers are only women. My husband (and d&r co-founder, Bill) LOVES the Limitless Moisturizer and played an important role in both developing and testing it.

So, men are totally allowed! And as a matter of fact, non-binary people are allowed as well! Your grandparents can come too! That random stranger you just met in line at the grocery store? Bring them along too!

How Did you determine the price?

We had to factor a lot of things into our final price. First, customers are essentially buying two products! One for them and one for a fellow sister in need. Second, the Limitless Moisturizer is an incredibly high-quality product. We chose only the best ingredients and didn’t want to compromise anything in order to drive the price down. Many of our quality testers have swapped out other designer offerings for the Limitless Moisturizer. In fact, some even say it’s their holy grail item!
